Sicily Sicily is the only trip we offer annually. In part because of its popularity and in part because it has so much to offer. Colonized in the 5th century by Ancient Greeks, and then passed, hand-over-hand, from one foreign domination to the next, Sicily offers perhaps the richest mélange of all our trips. Greek temples, Roman amphitheaters, Byzantine mosaics, Baroque over-the-top architecture: here, truly, one finds an unparalleled sweep of histories and cultures, on a beautiful island the size of Vermont. Sicily, in our minds, is essential.
